The Ikebana International Sacramento Chapter will host a flower arranging demonstration in the Saga Go-ryƫ Ikebana style. Susan Kasa will demonstrate.
Ms. Kasa recently displayed her floral arrangements at the Freer|Sackler, the Smithsonianâs museums of Asian art, located on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
The Saga Go-ryƫ approach to ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arranging) was founded by Emperor Saga about 1200 years ago. The school operates from the Daikakuji Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, Japan.
The Ikebana International Sacramento Chapter #26 was chartered on September 29, 1959, by Mrs. Molly Kimura, the late Marie Summers, and others.
This event is open to the public and will take place in the Large Room at Shepard Garden and Arts Center.
Cost: A minimum $5 donation. Doors open at 11:30 A.M. All are welcome to enjoy a potluck luncheon. Please bring your favorite table ready dish to share.
